Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-05-05  Poisonpawns: Fantastic game showing Larsen at his best! It is hard to believe white is already in trouble after 11.b3? with the innocent plan of playing Bb2,but Larsen takes off and exploits the weakness of the diagnol with that leningrad bishop with the move 11..Ne4! If 12.Bb2 Qa5 13.Bxe4 fxe4 14.Qc2 Bf5! good for black, so the game continuation was played..On move 13..Bh3 Larsen missed the stronger 13..B5! which continues the exploiting of the diagnol. 13..b5 14.Bb2 bxc4 15.Ng2(if 15.bxc4 then Qa5! followed by Rxb2 is coming! exploiting the diagnol.Amazingly Larsen loses his advantage and white has equality by move 17. due to Larsen not choosing the strongest moves but white blunders also instead of the easy 20.Kg1 with = He plays Rd1? which loses to 20..Nxa2 21.Nxa2 Bxb2 22.Qxb2??(Kg1 black still wins) Qxe3! winning.Larsen missed that also. The next Larsen blunder is 24..Qh5? when Qf6 retains the advantage. Now white can equalize by either 25.Nb5 or Ne3...but 25.Re1?? loses on the spot! see moving the Knight kills Larsens combination because white can trade at e5 after Bxg2.A truly Blunderful game!
