Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-02-06  lordazol4: Invasion of important squares, blocading weak points. Both players are genius, and struggling for saving this idea.Woitzkiewicz stops his opponent at queen side and making counterattack to kingside. Not finding brillant move but preparing winning position for himself.
Oct-03-06  jmi: Thanks for highlighting this game, lordazol4. This is a truly valuable and highly instructive game.

There are many elements in this game which are very instructional.

Piece mobility, blockading, prophylaxis, removal of potential threats, attacking pawn chains, using a Knight as a blockade, using pawns as jump points, pins, closing of files, recognising mating patterns, keeping diagonals open for Bishops and Queens. All this in 42 moves. Amazing game!

eg. check out move 39. Kg3. Black cannot take the Bishop on h5 else it gets skewered by the Rook (e2-h2) leading to mate on the vital square h8!
