tpstar: Fine win by Black against the Richter-Veresov featuring steady positional play and efficient tactics. Where did White go wrong?

matey: After 2.Nc3, Tarrash and others would say that Black is already equal. 8.Ne5 looks premature as Black will be able to exchange the e5 pawn and wind up with majority of pawns on the queenside. When White tried the pawn push e4 and e5 he might have thought that he could land a knight on d6 but then realized that after 21...Nc7 the move 22.Ne4 is not good because of 22...Nd5 and the f pawn will be lost. 24.c3 allowed a winning tactic but White's position was inferior anyway as the black knight was coming to e3.
Sep-19-04  acirce: The Veresov literally gives me the creeps.
