Johnnysaysthankyou: White should have played 18.c4 instead 18. Kb1 after which things get complicated. Black must play 18...d5 but what white missed is that after Nxd5 black has many problems. One of these problems is that his queen is threatened and the knight on d5 is very strong. Black maybe has to play Rxd5 and after that things get really really complicated. I'll look at this more when I get home, it would have given the magician quite a game.

  beatgiant: <Johnnysaysthankyou> 18. c5 d5 19. Nxd5 cxd5. What does White get for the sacrificed piece?

PawnSac: Stockfish 14 gives 18.c5 a very slight plus for black, but after 18.c5 d5 19.Nxd5 [i.e., piece sac] black is winning [well over +6.xx for black]
