Honza Cervenka: This is one of Taimanov's best games. It is full of neat tactics. For example, after 17...Bd7! white cannot take the Knight 18.Qxa5 for 18...b6 and the Queen is trapped. But what is really magnificent here it is his winning combination 23...Kh8! 24.Bxd7 Rg8! with idea 25.Bxe8 Qxg2+ 26.Ke2 (26.Ke1 Rxe8+ 27.Nge2 Bf4! ) 26...Rxe8+ 27.Kd3 Qg6+ 28.Kd2 Bf4#.

Benzol: If 25.f3 ♗c5 or 25.g4 hxg3. After 24...♖g8 it doesn't seem as though White can save the game.

Tabanus: According to StÃ¥hlberg's tournament book, Taimanov (for this game) and Kotov (for some other game) shared second and third brilliancy price. First Prize went to Stoltz for Stoltz vs H Steiner, 1952.
