Jul-21-11  r00ksac: The black knights appear to be symmetrical bookends poised on opposite sides of the board in the final position. The unfortunate white king is trapped between them and reminds me of the quote in Macbeth that refers to "a tale told by an idiot". I was reading that play by Shakespeare in junior high years ago when I became acquainted with chess literature. I would have liked this game. Perhaps the conclusion might have served as an interesting topic for a Borgesian reflection on symmetry and metaphysics.
