Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-25-05  like a GM: 16.d5 and 18.Bc5 are very nice positional sacs. Spassky could predict that preventing castling would bring black king into a very unpleasant situation.
Jun-04-06  Poisonpawns: Spassky gives us a forced mate in 10 moves!starting with 26.Rxe4
Apr-05-15  A.T PhoneHome: In the ending position, Black is forced to play 32...Kh4 and White will mate in the next move, 33.Qg3#

Curious how Spassky moved his Queen's Bishop to c5 already on move 18; retreating to b4 with <21.Bb4> but returning back to c5 on move 23. After <27.Qh8+> that same Bishop forces Black to play <27...Kf7>; Queen wins pawn and gives check with <28.Qh7>. Then <28...Kf6 29.Qe7+> is another beautiful example of c5 Bishop and Queen's teamwork.

And to give this story a consistent finish; it is that Bishop on c5 who gives check with <32.Be3+> and Queen will checkmate! Great Spassky, greater Spassky, the greatest Spassky!
