Apr-28-06  zev22407: K.O in 21 moves.
Jul-05-09  Knight13: I think 11...Bf6 followed by 12...Ne7 actually holds. Then play ...g6 or ...Kh8 or whatever if needed.

Black definitely ignored the danger around his king until it was too late.

Jan-23-18  otto80: I think the finish is 21...Qg6 22. Rg3!

perfidious: That is the prettier method, though the inelegant 22.Qxe5+ also closes the show.
May-17-18  Zugzwangovich: Spassky's opponent in this Student Olympiad was not Shimon Kagan (who had just turned 13 at the time). Cafferty's "Spassky's 100 Best Games" gives the name as "Kajan", who was representing Finland. I have submitted a correction slip.
May-17-18  Toribio3: During his prime, ex-WC Spassky was a monster in attack!
Aug-13-19  Lander: Spassky no ha jugado bien la apertura correcto era 8.Af7+ con juego igualado.
May-17-21  Arturo2nd: Cafferty recommends 11..d5 12.Bxd5 Nd4, which I don't find in any of my databases. Korchnoi tried 7..0-0 8.0-0 Bxc3 in 1952 and lost to Kopaev at Minsk.

6.Nb3 is considered inferior, but Spassky likely thought that if Korchnoi couldn't hold Black's position it was worth a try.
