Ron: A powerful attacking game by Spassky.
Aug-06-19  Lander: Interesante apertura para el blanco aún hoy en día.Y demostración de ataque de Spassky.Que sencillo plan 17.h4! Para atacar en el flanco de rey.
Aug-06-19  Lander: No vale 13.... Cc3 por 14.Af7! jaque y el blanco está mejor.

plang: 5 Bf4 is not considered to be as ambitious as 5 Bh4 and is played only rarely. 8..c5 would be nore in the spirit of the opening. 12..Nd5 wasn't effective since neither capture (c3 or f4) benefited Black. 15..Be6 would have been a more logical follow-up to 14..Qd6. 17..f6? was weakening and just asking for trouble.

Excellent example of how not to play the Gruenfeld.

Surprised that this game was included in Cafferty's book of Spassky's best games as Black's play was inferior.
