Jul-08-08  Jim Bartle: Let me see if I've got this straight:

Timman, half a point behind Karpov befire the last round, takes a quick draw, hoping that swashbuckling tactician Andersson will defeat Karpov?

Jul-08-08  8284: It's amazing the items of information you store away. :D
Jul-08-08  whiteshark: Even more astonishing if you see the final standing:

<1) Karpov (7.5 points)
<2) Timman (7.0 points)
<3-4) Andersson, Sosonko (6.5 points) >>
>

5-6) Petrosian, Smislov (6.0 points)
. . .

Jul-08-08  suenteus po 147: If Andersson had won his game against the world champion then there would have been a three-way tie for first. I guess the question is who had the best tiebreaks in that scenario :)
