Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-21-04  Jesuitic Calvinist: Say I like this game a lot - Vaganian made winning it look very easy.
Jun-27-04  gmann: If I'm not mistaken this is an exact replica of the Short-Vaganian 1982 match. Short didn't learn his lesson ;(
Feb-12-11  maelith: I bet most GM nowadays will agree to a draw at move 34 in this game, great win by Vaganian
Mar-30-17  Retireborn: Vaganian has a cunning plan with ...f6 and ...Be5, tempting Short into a pawn endgame which is "obviously" drawn, and indeed is drawn until he goes wrong with 42.g4 (was that a sealed move, perhaps?) Instead 42.f3 should hold on.

Does anybody have a round number for this game? Just to check whether it was played in 82 or 83.

Interestingly Short could have bailed out for a perpetual with 19.Nxh6+, and a few years later he did just that:-
