  plang: With all the discussion of when to resign on the board this represents an interesting example. Yermolinsky resigned here seeing no defense to f5 winning a piece.

If he had been less discouraged he could have set a clever trap with 48 Qd4 hoping for 48..Kh7? which allows 49 Qd7+! which should draw.

I was taught when learning chess to seek out hidden resources that might allow the chance of saving a "lost" game.

Feb-27-06  raminov: beautiful game.king can move from the diognal which the black queen has pinned the knight,but then the rook takes the responsiblity of pinning. so f5 wins material.
