Benzol: 35...♖b8 should draw easily. How did Boleslavsky fall for this one. 36...♔xe8 37.♗a4 wins the rook.

Gypsy: This was a mental error on Boleslavsky's part: He considered the obvious 36.Ba4? harmless because of 36...Rb1+, with White win. Somehow Boleslavsky missed the effect of permutation of White moves. (I just read about that in Vesely's book on chess psychology.)
Sep-16-06  Poisonpawns: I read that Boleslavsky chose the inferior kf7 because he attacked the pawn, guarded the promote square and his rook could serve more important duties.Which sounds great but was tactically flawed as we see :-)
Aug-21-08  gambitfan: The White King's Knight moves at the 20th move ! Small castling just follows...
Sep-04-18  Saniyat24: 16 rounds of hard games will do that to you...!
Sep-04-18  ughaibu: But this was played in round four.
