Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-26-14  zydeco: This game is like a cautionary tale against playing the Dutch. Looking at the database, Uhlmann had never played it before, and never played it again -- so he picked a very odd moment to try it out, in what might well have been the biggest games of his career. Here he loses his fourth game in a row to essentially take himself out of a qualifying spot for the Candidates tournament.

Pieces get exchanged off, and lines opened against black's king, with black's knight hopelessly out of play on the queenside.

It's hard even to come up with defenses for black past a certain point. If 26....Nb8 27.Nf4 Qc6 28.Qe5 Nd7 29.Qxd5+ Qxd5 30.Nxd5 Nxc5 31.b4 and white emerges a pawn ahead.
