chancho: In 1900, Harry N Pillsbury went to Havana.(He played blindfold chess, while also playing checkers, whist, etc.)A young Capablanca was there in the audience watching the great Pillsbury, and was extremely impressed. This event inspired the young boy to become a master.Incidentally, Bernardo Iglesias played a game of chess with a 4 year old Capablanca. He gave the child Queen odds, and lost.
