  dernier loup de T: Several mistakes in this hard fight game;
Clerc defended pretty well but Mackenzie missed a last opportunity to win the game after Clerc's 69th move, by answering 69..g5! Why? Because it is winning a tempo; lets suppose like in the game 70.e8Q Rxe8 71.Kxe8 g4 and we see that the pawn can no more be stopped! Glory for France, but a pity for the american champion, a very strong attacker!

  dernier loup de T: The difference could be shown more clearly of course after 71..g5 72. Ra4 g4 73.Rxb4 g3 74. Rb1 Kf5! etc, draw: an instructive endgame study in my opinion...
