Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-13-14  Mendrys: Very interesting game. Pachman's Modern Chess Strategy was an important book for me when I was just learning how to play chess in my late teens. I'm wondering when Fuderer realized that his b pawn was going to be forfeit. 26. Kf2 seems to be the pivotal move. Maybe he was wanting to get his king closer to the center and any passed black pawns if the game went to an endgame? He has to lose his b pawn and as a result black gets 2 passed pawns and whites once formidable looking bishop remains a spectator being unable to assist.
Nov-19-15  zydeco: <Mendrys> Yeah. 26.Qc3 or 26.Rb3 hangs onto the pawn. White may have missed black's trick with 27...c5! after 27.Rb1 or 27.Rb3.

Beautiful mating net starting with 45....Rg4+!

Jan-21-16  sycophante: 45... Black to move and mate in 11.
