Apr-25-06  Benzol: Interesting that these two players share the same day birthday.
Jan-16-07  sandmanbrig: Brilliant play by Nunn.
Oct-26-08  sfm: Well, having seen Black's two next moves - and yes, 'brilliant' is the word - it appears that 18.h4 was a losing move.

  OhioChessFan: Really nice pun.
Apr-08-22  areknames: <Really nice pun> I concur, and such an entertaining game. Well done <AllergicToTurtles> and <Selector>.
Apr-08-22  Brenin: <sfm: it appears that 18.h4 was a losing move.> Yes, a classic case where castling was required. Game and pun both enjoyable.

  al wazir: I think black missed a chance to win a piece earlier: 20...Qxg3+ 21. Nf2 Rxd8 22. exd5 exd5 23. Bb3 (23. Bd3 c4 24. Rxb4 cxd3; 23. Ba2 bc6; 23. Qe7 Bf6) Bc6 24. Ra2 (24. Ra1 Bxb2 25. Rb1 Bc3+ 26. Kd1 d4) Bb5 25. Qd2 Re8+ 26. Kd1 Re2.
Apr-08-22  Cibator: Must have hurt a wee bit to give up one of those beautiful bishops at move 26.
Apr-08-22  Brenin: <alwazir>: I'm sure that Nunn was well aware that White's N was en prise on move 20, but correctly judged that the exchange sacrifice 20 ... Rxd8 gave him an even greater advantage than that following from 20 ... Qxg3+.
Apr-08-22  goodevans: Good game and a decent pun. It would have been a truly great pun if Black had 'stolen' this game but in reality he was comfortably ahead even before White failed to anticipate his brilliant sacrificial attack.

White played on rather longer than would be considered polite.

  Dionysius1: Now that IS a pun :-)
Apr-08-22  Carrubo: That horrible rook on a4…
Apr-09-22  rogl: The a4 rook got what it deserved.
Apr-10-22  areknames: Funny thing is Black has to play ...c5 anyway, so 10.Ra4 makes no sense at all.
