Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-10-15  zydeco: Another ridiculous flurry of tactics from Nezhmetdinov.

20.Nh5!! kicks it off.

If 23...Kxh7 24.Bxf5+ K moves 25.Bxh6 winning back the piece.

Borisenko seems to defend pretty well, and enters the endgame with material equality - although Nezhmetdinov's rooks outclass the minor pieces.

The finish is 47.Rh3+ Kg8 (or Kg6) 48.Rg3 winning the bishop.

Oct-10-15  zydeco: On 21...Kg7, Nezhmetdinov planned 22.Qxh6+! Kxh6 23.Ne6+ Kg6 24.e5+ Kh5 25.Bd1+ Kg6 26.h5+ Kf5 27.Nd4#

Nezhmetdinov says he calculated everything up till 29.hxg5 but "still had to win."

Black had a tougher defense with 30....Be5.

Feb-05-23  andrea volponi: 20...be7!=.
Feb-07-23  andrea volponi: 19...kg7!?-20nh5+(f4!? ⩲) gxh5-21qxh5 qd7- 22qxh7+ kf8-23qh5 bxg5-24hxg5 ne5- 25qh2 bc8-26 be3 ⩲.
