  chancho: Had Aronin played 27...Rd7 Nezh might have played 28.Nxf5 gxf5 29.Qd3 + -
Nov-02-06  Castle In The Sky: Nice tactics!
Nov-02-06  aw1988: 18...Nc5 is worth a look
Nov-02-06  Petrocephalon: I was wondering about 20..Nf6 21.gxf6 Qxf6

I'm probably missing something dreadfully obvious, but in my calculations Black either recovers the piece or gets two pawns and what seems to me like compensation.

Nov-02-06  Petrocephalon: I think I see what you're saying aw. 18..Nc5 19.Bxc5 Nxb3 20.axb3 dxc5, and the a6 pawn can't be taken.
Nov-05-06  Petrocephalon: Much as I'm sure it's a silly idea, I still can't find the refutation to 20..Nf6. Anybody?
Nov-05-06  sitzkrieg: Fritz6 has no clear refutation although e5 seems to give white a little plus.
Nov-05-06  Petrocephalon: Thank you sitzkrieg. 21.e5 wasn't one of the replies I'd considered.
May-13-18  MariusDaniel: Interesting game played by master Rashid Nezhmetdinov!
Oct-24-18  graphvariety: @chancho: You probably meant 27... Re7.
Then 28. Qh1! looks crushing, as Black seems to have no more than spite checks. E.g., 28... Rxe2+ 29. Kxe2 exf4+ 30. Kd1 Bc2+ 31.Kc1.
