  plang: Normally White plays 10 exf; 10 0-0 had not been tried before. Lilienthal thought White should have done more to restrain the ..g5 break: ie. 17 Nxc6..Bxc6 18 Qe3. 19 Qe3? was a serious positional error; 19 g3 needed to be played. After 22 Nxb5? White was lost; 22 Re1 was netter. In time pressure Black missed the stronger 30..Rxg4+ 31 Bxg4..Qxg4+ 32 Kh1..Qd1 and if 33 Rg1 then 33..Nf2+ 34 Kg2..Nd3 followed by ..QXg1+ and ..c1(Q)+.
