Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-12-04  InspiredByMorphy: I think Short's win started with 14.Nxe5! At first I thought that he could have played it on move 13, but it makes all the difference that the Knight is on d7, as it takes away the crucial escape square of the king's. For example 13.Nxe5 Bxd1 14.Nd7+ Ke7 15.Nxf6 Bxa4
Jul-01-13  zanzibar: Before the knight can spring into action, 13.Be3 is necessary to prevent Black's threat of mate on f2.

(And going back - 7...Nxb3 is probably preferred over 7...d6 and would have nipped the f7 attack in the bud - although Black had lots of good chances just simplifying)
