White is losing ground down two pawns, but then seizes the initiative by gaining time on the Black queen. White makes use of open diagonals and half-open files to prevent castling and threaten mate on e7. Sacrificing the exchange and maintaining, then robbing the pin shows a grandmaster's touch.

Once again, the castled king wins.
