GlassCow: One of the more beautiful Kramnik games on record. The pawn sacrifice on move 9 is both enterprising and brilliant, freeing the d4 square for powerful occupation by the king's knight. 17. g4!! is a powerful stroke, exposing the weekness of the long diagnal. After 25. Bxf8, it is merely a mopup job for Kramnik's fautless endgame technique, with his opponent having only a pawn for the exchange.
Mar-09-04  Benjamin Lau: It's a great strategic game, but Romanishin's defensive play is rather lacking.
Jun-10-08  Jesspatrick: Romanishin's 7...Bxc3 must be called into question as a waste of time, and Kramnik's pawn sacrifice is effective.

17.g4! is stunning. 17...Nxg4 18.cxd5 wins a piece, while the game continuation sheds an Exchange for Black. This game takes long diagonal tactics to its highest level.
