Dec-13-04  azaris: 16. ♘g3 ♕xg3 17. ♘e4 ♕h2+ 18. ♔f1 ♕h1+ 19. ♔e2 ♕xg2 doesn't look good but it's not over yet. Why did Korchnoi chicken out?

TheAlchemist: Korchnoi couldn't play, because he got distracted
Jul-12-05  fgh: <TheAlchemist>: Korchnoi got distracted by a chick :-)))))))))))))))))))
Jul-12-05  aw1988: Korchnoi wasn't distracted! He was just looking- er- down most of the time...
Jul-12-05  lentil: are we sure K was white?

TheAlchemist: <lentil> Usually, the master giving the simul has White, so it's probable. He didn't have much time to think, because he had to go around, so he simply resigned in a bad-looking position.

  OhioChessFan: Korchnoi: Waiter, chick please.
Chick: What a poultry effort by a GM.
K: Maybe I should have tried the Fried Liver Attack?

C: Beating a GM is a feather in my cap.

K: You'd think I could have kept my King from getting cooped up.

C: Try a Bird's opening next time.
K: Maybe a Wing Gambit.
C: Whatever, try not to lay an egg.
Groucho: Horsefeathers!

  beatgiant: Actually, after 16. Ng3 Qxg3 17. Ne4 Qh2+ 18. Kf1 <g3!>, I think White's goose is cooked.

After the further 19. Nxc5 Qh1+ 20. Ke2 Bg4+ 21. Kd2 Bxd1 22. Rxh1 Rxh1, and Black is clucking over the win of the exchange.

Nov-23-05  Karpova: at least, korchnoi didn't chicken out
Aug-20-10  whiteshark: Did he say <This is the very first and very last time you ever won a game agaist me.> afterwards?
