Jul-01-05  Ulhumbrus: This was the masterpiece of the match. Spassky'a play turned Korchnoi's pawn centre into a target instead of allowing it to become a weapon, while Spassky's queen side pawn majority became a weapon instead of a target.

Petrosian vs Korchnoi, 1971

Apr-30-06  offramp: Black's last move, 42...h5, threatens ...Rg4 followed by ...Rxf4, winning the queen. There doesn't seem to be much white can do about it.
Oct-26-07  herrahuu: After 43.♖e2!? ♖g4?? 44.♕b7+! = I don't see the win of the queen at least not in the immediate future.

I believe the winning line is somewhere along 43.♖e2!? ♕a1+! 44.♔f2 ♖xe2+ 45.♔xe2 ♕xa2+

thegoodanarchist: 25. Qh5 is a complete misconception by White, which Spassky turns into a major-piece ending with White somewhat cramped. After that, it is just technique.

Having said that, I am not sure what plan White should adopt instead of the one he played.

Apr-26-15  Howard: Turn on your computer then !
Sep-11-18  edubueno: En un match perdido, VK se juega la Ășltima chance.
Mar-01-23  notyetagm: <keypusher: ". . . but I forgot, so Petrosian reminded me.">

Did Viktor really say that?
