Jul-20-02  smichellel: Can someone explain this game to me?

Sneaky: How do you mean that?
Oct-30-04  alspookyd: If 25....Kf7, 26. Qd7+ Kf8 29. Qg7+ winning the rook, and threatening Rg8+ winning material.

I don't have software to check this, so take it for what its worth.

May-15-05  soberknight: Not much to explain. Black played the opening poorly and never recovered. Instead of 8...Be6, he could have tried 8...d5! (why wait?) or ...Nd7-c5.
May-25-05  MoonlitKnight: It's all pretty much forced.
Jun-10-09  AnalyzeThis: Yes, 8... Be6 was a definite mistake. In many openings, the black's queen's bishop is developed rather late in the game, because it's not clear where it should go. Here, the only thing it did was throw gasoline on the fire and encoursge the f pawn push.
Jun-10-09  WhiteRook48: captain of force failed
Jan-20-16  mruknowwho: Captain La Force? The jedi play chess?
Jan-20-16  MCDreamz: Ask and you shall receive. What a bumbling idiot.
Jan-20-16  thegoodanarchist: Captain La Force sounds like a GOTD pun itself.
Jan-20-16  Octal: Doesn't look like Black had any alternatives from move 15 onward.
Jan-20-16  kevin86: White is playing blindfold while black's name is close to a Star Trek-TNG character who is sightless and wears a device that "sees" for him.

Alternative title: The blind leading the blind.

Jan-20-16  Martin Riggs: "Captain Future" is back! :D

Jan-20-16  ajile: The regular Hanham Philidor is stubborn but not that fun to play as Black.

The Philidor Exchange is even less fun.

White gets all the chances and Black has to play almost perfectly to avoid attacks.

Jan-21-16  Moszkowski012273: 12.f6... was actually pretty bad.... White should of lost this game.
