Aug-23-07  zb2cr: Why not 14. ... Bf6, pinning the White Knight?
Aug-23-07  DutchKnight: <zb2cr>I just took a quick glimpse at the position after 14...Bf6 and though it looks good it takes pressure off the white b pawn which the white Q has to keep an eye on til a3 is played.14.Bd6 keeps the pressure on the b pawn plus puts pressure on whites k-side by making him play the weakening f4 and eyeing up the h pawn.Bd6 is also preferred because why would Black close the half open f file he already has access to when he could put an obstacle on the d file which white has easier access to while opening the k side to his queen. Finally i can't really see any trouble white has after...Bf6 when he has Ndf3 Rad1 and then dealing with his weak Qside pawns and getting his Queen active.
Aug-27-07  zb2cr: Thanks for your thoughts, <DutchKnight>. Looks right.
