Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-09-04  nikolaas: The Dutch opening pope van der Tak gives:
7....c6?! (the theory gives as the best Nc6. Be6 can also be played.) 9....fxg3? (Now white can sacrifiece, but on other moves wite would have captured on f4 and 9...g4 10.Nh4 was of course bad.) 10....Kxf7? (This loses forced.Kd7 was better, but one doesn't make such moves for pleasure.) 11....Ke6 (Ke8 12.Qh5+with mate and Ke7 sees Rf7+)
13.hxg3 (The black king won't leave the centre alive.Be3 and g4 are threatened.) 15....Qb6 (Otherwise, there follows 16.Bd4++ with mate.) 19.Re1 (More misery for the black king; the e-file is opened.) 19....Nxd5 (Or Bf5 20.Bxg5 Bxd3 21.Nc3+ Kd4 22.Rf4++ with mate.) 21.Qd4+ (Black gave up because of 21....Kxd4 22.Nc3#)
Jul-29-07  Whitehat1963: What a beautiful Monday/Tuesday puzzle after 20...cxd4!

Bubo bubo: What a stunning anachronistic game! Wild attacking, 1873-like chess played in 1973...
