Sep-13-05  buckaroo: This is game 60 of Chess Brilliants, listed as amateur - Neumann, shown as resigning after 29 moves
Sep-13-05  MoonlitKnight: Springer means knight in German.
Sep-25-06  syracrophy: This is a charming king hunt and I can't explain myself why this game isn't in the list of the best games of Neumann, and doesn't have more kibitzing. Everybody should know of this awesome game!

sachistu: White was not J.Springer. The notes to the game were from the book 'Guide for Beginners in Chess by G.R.Neumann' (my rough German translation) PUBLISHED by J.Springer. Some databases apparently picked up his name for White. In Neue Berliner Schachzeitung,1864,p341 White is listed with the single letter 'R'.
