Sep-07-09  National Master Dale: 23.Nxb5 is a little mysterious
Sep-07-09  jrofrano: <National Master Dale> if 23. ... cxb5 24. Rxd7+! kxd7 (if not white will simply invade anyway) 25. Qe7+ kc8 26. Qc7#
Nov-09-11  Llawdogg: Gotta love the Muzio!
Sep-13-17  ughaibu: Jrofrano: that doesn't dispel the mystery of Nb5!

  chancho: 23.Nxb5 really wasn't necessary.

Simply 23.Rxd7+ (as was played on move 24.) wins.

fredthebear: Back then, it was customary to accept sacrifices. The simple exchange 23...cxNb5 24.Qxb5 threatens mate on the move, so it's easy for White to play. If Black interposes 24...Bc6, then 25.Qa5+ mates next move regardless. Thus, White had good reason to try for a double knight sacrifice without sacrificing the rook!
