Oct-01-04  checkpat: Naive question ( I m no KG expert)
what about e5 instead of h4?
Isnt the alignment K+Q on the same
column annoying for black?

  tpstar: <checkpat> One of the rules of thumb for the 3 ... d6 KGA is how 8. Qb3 is best met by 8 ... Qe7, defending f7 while intentionally gaining the e file to pressure e4 and e5. (8 ... Qd7 is playable but more passive IMHO.) If 9. e5 de 10. Re1 Kf8 11. Nxe5 Nxe5 12. dxe5 Nf6! closes lines and Black's King is quite happy on f8 (13. e6? Ng4 & 14 ... Qc5+), or 11. de Na5 trading down (12. Qa4 Nxc4 13. Qxc4 Be6). I was pleasantly surprised how well 9 ... Nf6 worked here; I would have chosen 9 ... g4, while the safest move may well be 9 ... Bf6. Fantastic combination at the end.
Oct-11-04  InspiredByMorphy: What a game! Black plays excellently.
Dec-19-05  lopium: It sounds so fantastic that I'm not able to see the end! The winning line, after having thinking somes.... I prefer wait to have the true one(s).
Dec-21-05  lopium: lopium, Re2 wins, I think you are able to work it out ;)
Jan-17-13  xinnie: Finale: Rf1 Qg3+ Kh1 Qxh3+ Kg1 Qg3+ Kh1 Rh8+ Bh6 Qxg7
