Apr-13-05  Whitehat1963: Love this complex little game and the pretty queen sacrifice, but I don't understand 13...bxc5. Can someone explain?
Apr-13-05  Shams: there is a ton I don't understand about this game. are we sure about the game score?

for example: why not 11...Ng3 winning the h1 rook?

  samvega: <Shams> I think 11..Ng3 12.Qb7 Nxh1 13.Qxg7 Rf7 14.Bh6

<Whitehat> I think 13..N moves 14.Nd5 Bg6 15.c6 is strong for white. If black discovers w/ Ng3, just Qc3. The sac 13..bxc5 is mitigated by the opening of the a5-d8 diagonal.

I must say I deeply admire Renet's imaginative and courageous play, even if he lost!

Apr-13-05  Shams: <samvega> you mean 12.Qb2 and 13...Rf8, but yeah that looks good. nice find.

you also mean 14.Nd4 in the other line. are you dyschessic? ;)

samvega: dyschessic -- easier to spell than dyslexic. I think this means it's time for me to go home and eat supper. Good grief!!!!
