Interesting situation.

At first I thought 44...h6 45. a5 would preserve zugzwang with an even easier win, but then 45...Rxe4! 46. dxe4 is stalemate.

But what if 44...h6 45. Re6, so that 45...Rxe4 46. Rxe4 avoids stalemate and White wins a rook? In that case, Black still has 45...Rf3+! 46. Bxf3 stalemate.

So, your line above looks best after all.
