HamasHamas: Kasparov playing bad Chess, and
getting away with it. And it's shameful.
Move 12: A Scotch with f4 out.
Yet we can't play 12...d5?, without
a very bad French happening after
13 e5.
That points to the solution: 12...e5!
first, and after 13 f5?! d5! 14 ed
Nb4!, equalizing cleanly, except
that White may need to equalize at
this point.
12...b6
An acceptable alternative, maybe
even envisioning the creative solution at move 18 (!!).
If 13 e5? Ng4!
15...Nxd3
Bringing a d-pawn back seems to
defeat Black's whole purpose in
playing the Sicilian, yet he has
captured an important attacking
piece. Nevertheless, this move will
virtually mandate Black's 18th, so
it's good that that move is intended.
19...Nb3?
'Play for material gain. Whatever
your opponent give, you take, unless
you see a good reason not to.'
- Bobby
Kudos to Bobby, and here there is no
good reason not to play 19...fxe4!,
winning a pawn.
27 Nxd6? Boyish bravado, and
completely unsound.
28...Qf8? ANY retreat but this.
The rest is not worth commentary.
