nasmichael: "Life itself is always a trial. In training, you must test and polish yourself in order to face the great challenges of life. Transcend the realm of life and death, and then you will be able to make your way calmly and safely through any crisis that confronts you."--Morehei Ueshiba, The Art of Peace

Game 5 of E. Mednis' How Karpov Wins, pp 26-29. "Karpov prepares for an expected opening variation, finds the means to strengthen White's position, and comes out of the opening with a clear advantage. His opponent's attempts at counterplay on the Queenside are turned away with what seems like effortless ease. When Savon ventures an unsound tactical point, Karpov refutes with a sound one. Opening, strategy, tactics--all mesh for a scintillating twenty-four move win.

Feb-14-04  Catfriend: I think that if black would just develop his main power, his attack on the Q-side would be more effective.
