Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-28-05  chess man: A classic example of a Kingside pawn majority vs. a Queenside pawn majority. If white doesn't try to stop Geller's b-pawn then obviously he gets to promote his pawn to a Queen. Play could have gone: 51.Rb8 Rb5 52.Rd8+ Kc5 53.Rc8+ Kb4 54.Rc1 b2 55.Rb1 Kc3 56.h5 Kc2 57.Rh1(or anywhere)b1=Q 58.RxQ KxQ and white has no reason to play on. Good game.
