Aug-26-14  sneaky pete: Geller was in severe time trouble when he made a mistake on move 34. His flag fell while he was playing 40... Qxb8.

In his notes in the tournament book Szabo questionmarks 28... Bf6 and gives an exclamation mark to each of his own moves 29, 30, 31 and 32. It must be clear, White is winning by sheer annotational force. After 32.Bd4 ..

Geller played 32... Bd6, good enough for a draw, but is 32... Qd6 an alternative? Not if we can believe Szabo. "Life isn't easy for Black after 32... Qd6 33.Be5 Qxb4 34.Qh6 .. either", he writes, overlooking that in this line Black continues 34... Bf6

with a probable win (for Black, that is).
