  Fusilli: What a pathetic game by white. What's the point of a3 and Rb1 if you are going to end up playing b3? And even Na4... so, the bishop retreats to a7, and now what? A white knight is hapless on the edge of the board, far from the action. The whole white game is aimless and adrift. Punishment was well deserved.

  perfidious: Black's fourth move looks bizarre, but is outdone by his opponent's strange play: as <Fusilli> noted, why open the b-file, then waste a tempo on a3?

Ciocaltea was clearly a player of international standard, but this was not one of his better days.
