and since the 7th rank White passer is a center pawn, White loses.

Jun-30-13  ewan14: Boris just seems to spend most of the beginning of the game '' faffing around '' !
Apr-27-16  Howard: Very nice endgame by Geller, especially since the opening played was one in which it's usually White--not Black--who gets the better endgame.
Mar-06-18  zydeco: Yeah, Spassky was a bit planless, or at least over-subtle, through most of the middlegame.

After 50.Rf1, 50....Re7 followed by ...e4 looks a bit scary.

54....Rd7-d4-a4 is a nice maneuver that Spassky may have missed.

63.d4 is probably the fatal mistake. It seems like it should be a draw if white just keeps the king back.
