  patzer2: Geller's 32. Bxf7! is the solution to number 1707 in Chess Informant's 1980 Encyclopedia of Chess Middle Games/Combinations. It is classified under the theme "Demolition of Pawn Structure" via "Sacrifice at f7 (f2).

If 32...Kxf7, then White wins with 33. Qc4+ Kg6 (33...Kf8 34. Be7+ Ke8 35. Qe6 Bxe4 36. Nxg7#) 36. Ne7+ Kh7 37. Nxc8.

If 33...gxh4, White mates quickly after 34. Qe6! (34. Bg6! Qe8 35. Bxe8 also wins) 34...Qd8 35. Bh5 Bd5 36. Qxh6+ Kg8 37. Qg7#.

Fritz 8 slightly prefers 34. Bg6! over the move played, analyzing a quick win after 34...Qd7 35. Bf2 Bc8 36. Bxc5+!! bxc5 37. Qxc5+ Kg8 38. Qb6! Nxe4 39. fxe4.
