Jun-13-05  aw1988: I remember watching this game live. Before 39. g3 I went and got another cup of coffee (and the devil, I couldn't find any bathrooms afterwards!) and returned after 61. Ra8+ after being engaged in conversation. I wanted very much to see the endgame lay out, but I abandoned hope after 97. Ra7. Too long for my tastes. I saw this in a magazine afterwards. I thought it was a good idea I got away when I did!
Jun-13-05  suenteus po 147: Is there no way that Huebner can sacrifice his bishop for the draw?
Jun-13-05  aw1988: Even in the final position it seems drawn- what the heck:

Bxe7+ Kxe7 Kb4 and a4 draw!

Jun-13-05  nikolaas: 143....Bxe7 144.Kxe7 Kb4 145.Ba4 and white wins.
Jun-13-05  aw1988: Ah, Ba4! Sneaky. Thanks nikolaas.
Sep-03-19  Straclonoor: Tough game. More precisious 133.Kd7 or 133.b4 but at that stage no matter what move wins, if it did it.
