Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-26-04  Whitehat1963: Player of the day crushes Torre seemingly from start to finish. Is there anywhere in particular that Torre could have seized the initiative or equalized here?
Oct-26-04  Saruman: I think white should have traded queens after 8.-c4.
Oct-26-04  Whitehat1963: What would that have accomplished, a little less complexity, perhaps?
Oct-27-04  Saruman: <Whitehat1963>After 8.-c4 an exchange of queens would reduce the pressure on whites position overall, although its quite passive. 9.Qc2(as in the game) is probably a bit worse since after 9.-Bf5 black has a sure grip of the position.
Mar-31-05  peanut: Is this game implying that the Torre Attack was named after Eugene Torre? I'm having some doubt here but it would be nice if the opening belonged to him.

keypusher: <peanut> No, that would be this guy:

Carlos Torre-Repetto

Apr-02-05  peanut: ok, thanks keypusher for clearing that one up. :)
Nov-10-08  butcher123: torre doesn't know when to resign
Mar-22-09  sfm: "I can still bite!"
Jul-28-09  binno: Maibe, if I plan a sophisticated attack with my king...
Nov-16-14  m.okun: Moves 42 - 57 - why? Torre remembered children's tournaments?
