In any case, after 17. Be6+ Kh8 18. f4! (preventing ...Bf6) White would be in complete control.

Black's whole army is essentially helpless here. If 18...h6 19. Qg4, so all he can do is sit back and wait for White to decide where to break through. He can't even comfortably unpin the Ne7, as either ...Qe8 or ...Re8 would allow one of White's rooks to penetrate.
