Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-14-04  patzer2: Position (26. ?) is listed as number 131 in Chess Informant's Encyclopedia of Chess Middle Games/Combinations, and is classified under "pinning."

White missed the winning continuation 26 Qh4! in this game, and instead lost after straying with 26. Qg7 which let's Black back in the game with near equality. Instead, after 26. Qh4! Bd7 27. Rxf6! Qxf6 (27...Qb8 28. Rf6+! Kf8 29. Qh8#) 28. d6+, White wins the Black Queen and the game.

Notice the minor themes "discovered check" and "deflection" involved with 28. d6+!
