Black was essentially playing one (or even two!) rook(s) down. Neither really participated.

Probably even the prosaic ...Qc8, Qf6 piling up on the e-pawn wins as well, for example, ...Qe8, Nd6

It's curious how Colle lost the exchange by allowing his K-rook to be trapped in the middle.
