Feb-05-05  suenteus po 147: How does Bronstein beat the knight checks, had the game played out?
Feb-05-05  euripides: <Suenteus> The knight has limited options, but by curling up into a ball White can frustrate the natural attacking plan of bringing the king to f2. If the white pawn were on g3 Black could often win by giving back the exchange and bringing the king to f3, but this doesn't work with the pawn on g2.

Here, Black can win instead by using the h file and creating zugwangs. A typical line might go 73...Kg5 74 Ng3 (Ng7 loses to Re7) Re1 75 Nh1 Kf4 76 Ng3 Re5 77 Nf1 (Nh1 Rh5+ 78 Kg1 g3) Rh5+ 78 Kg1 g3 79 Nd2 Rd5 80 Nf1 Rd1.

Feb-05-05  suenteus po 147: <euripides> Thank you for your analysis. I sometimes find myself in similar endgames in my online play and I usually grind out a blunder from my opponent. However, now that I'm competing at my club, if this situation were to arise I'd want to know how to continue from this point without blundering myself. I'm not good enough for my opponent to resign!
Mar-27-14  receipt: Is it possible to flip the chessboard so I can view it from Black's point of view? Thank you.

WannaBe: Yes, but we need to know what device and which chess viewer you are using.

On iPad, it's next to impossible...

Mar-27-14  shivasuri4: <receipt>, assuming you are using Chess Viewer Deluxe II, click on the right bottom corner of the board.
Mar-27-14  Everett: <receipt> If you are using the pgn4web format on an I-phone, tap on the d7 square.
Jun-01-17  snakey77: Click on h8 for help, e7 for flipping board
