And what is "Rd7+ leads nowhere" supposed to mean, that move just gives up the rook. And what the heck is e7+ check, there is no pawn anywhere near e7! I'm soooo confused!! I think I might have botched up some move numbers here or something... or am I just being dense. |

The final position in the game shown here looks drawn by 72...Re4, but the score may be wrong. According to Levenfish and Smyslov Najdorf resigned after 72.e7 Ra8 - I guess Black has no defence against Rd6-d8. <Adrian>'s analysis corresponds with a variation in Levenfsh and Smlyslov after 67.g5 Ra7. I wonder if Black would be better to keep the bishops on rather than play 42..Bb5. |

The variation I posted is from Mueller, where he only gives a game fragment, not the correct move numbers - hence confusion. I think Euripides is right that the game score here is wrong - it should finish 72 e7 Ra8 73 Rf6 (as given by Mueller, also Megabase) - with the idea being Rd6 and Rd8. |
