Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-19-03  KnightBlade: Why does black play 28...Bxb5?? hanging his h8 rook? And why does White not take it with 29 Bxh8? And why did White play 29. Bd4?? which obviously loses a piece, when besides capturing the rook he could at least play 29. Bb2 and maintain drawing chances (bishops of opposite colors)?
May-02-03  popski: Indeed, strange game ... First chance to take the rook was on 24th move. This remind me on some Lasker anecdote:
After winning one game against Alexander they asked Lasker: What could happend if you took sacreficed rook?
I dont know. Lasker replied.
So, why didnt you take it?
And Lasker said: You know if Grand Master thinking for 45 minutes, then have to be something behind such combination.
May-02-03  ughaibu: I reckon 23.....Rdg8 was really Rhg8.
Jul-07-05  George and Vulture: As 23. ... Rdg8 has been altered to 23. ... Rhg8 then 24. ... Rf8 must be changed to 24. ... Rdf8 or the PGN hangs up.
