Jan-28-07  morphyvsfischer: Interesting game, proves that a knight can be better than a bishop on an open board because of weak pawns. 6...Nf6 7 d4 cxd4 8 Nxd4 is more natural, though white has a slight edge. 13...Qd2? is bad, as the endgame is not good for black. 17...Rxd1 followed by 18...Rd8 looks better for black, as now the c6 pawn is not so bad. 18...e5 looks necessary. 27...Rxa3?! 28 Nxc6 and now 28...Kd6 orders Black back to the discovered check after 29 Rd1+, 28...Rb2 loses a pawn to 29 Ne5+, and 28...f5 dies horribly to 29 Na5+ and 30 Nc4.

Fusilli: 7.d4 seems to be an energetic way to respond to 6...Nh6. It was recently seen in McShane vs Carlsen, 2010, which McShane won brilliantly.

Nice game by Ulf Andersson.
